For the Brief

We were commissioned by Dr Norma Gregory, on behalf of Tuntum Housing Association, to document the grand opening of a new affordable housing development at Manning Street, Nottingham. The event celebrated the completion of 28 new homes—17 houses and 11 flats—delivered in partnership with Homes England and Nottingham Community Housing Association. The development was notable for its cultural significance, with streets named after two prominent Windrush generation figures: Dr Des Wilson and Tony Robinson. Our brief included filming the ceremony, capturing key speeches and moments, conducting interviews, and producing a highlights video alongside an extensive photo gallery.

For the Style

Our approach was documentary and respectful, focusing on candid community interactions and key ceremonial moments. The film balanced wide establishing shots of the development with intimate close-ups of attendees and dignitaries. Interviews were shot cleanly with natural light to maintain an authentic tone. The photography mirrored this style, documenting not only the official proceedings but also informal moments of connection, celebration, and heritage pride. The visual tone was kept natural, clean, and community-focused.

For the Result

The highlights video and photo collection were delivered to Tuntum and received warmly.

Dr Norma Gregory commented, "Great work, thank you. Thank you for completing the task. Hope we can work together again on other projects in the future."

The video serves as an important record of the development’s opening and the community’s celebration of its cultural and social impact. The work also gained additional visibility, being picked up and featured across multiple news and housing sector platforms, helping to amplify the project's story and significance beyond the immediate community.
